Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) for a Gainesville, FL retail location. You will monitor and patrol the site, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents and assist customers and staff with a friendly, professional demeanor.

The role requires at least 1 year of security experience, a high school diploma, and a background check. Shifts are 3:00 PM–11:00 PM on Thursdays and Fridays; pay is $18.00 per hour, with growth opportunities through our perks

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail store, parking areas, receiving areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Monitor access points, entrances, exits, and restricted areas in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Document and report incidents, observations, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts as required.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
