Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to patrol Ashburn schools in VA, providing courteous customer service and a secure environment for students and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents while following district protocols.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent; guard card/licence and CPR are preferred, along with basic computer skills and prior customer-service experience.

Qualifications

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established school district protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, bus areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or policy violations, and maintain clear communication with school personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, complete required activity logs, and support a positive learning environment through professional interactions.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
