Allied Universal is seeking an unarmed Security Officer for a residential location in New York, NY. The role involves monitoring access points, patrolling, and providing exceptional customer service to residents and staff.

This is a part-time position with weekend shifts (Sat/Sun, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM). The pay rate is $17.25 per hour, with a focus on safety, presence, and responsive service to the community.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply; valid driver license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential areas, entrances, building perimeters, parking areas, and other assigned locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and resident activity; report suspicious conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly residential environment by reporting maintenance concerns and hazards observed during patrols.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, entrances, building perimeters, parking areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and resident activity in accordance with property policies; report suspicious conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly residential environment by reporting maintenance concerns, hazards, and other security-related issues observed during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
