Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) in Reston, VA is seeking a Full-Time Security Officer with an active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI endorsement. The role focuses on access control, badge creation, site escort duties, and visitor coordination on a Reston-based DTRA site.

The ideal candidate will stand/walk for long periods, work in all weather, and have at least a high school diploma and one year of public-facing work experience. On-site employment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• May be required to move between facility buildings.
• Must be able to function in all types of weather environments.
• Always be alert and maintain situational awareness while on duty.
• Perform all necessary physical duties without assistance.
• Must be able to take general directions, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Understand and operate the access control system.
• Authenticate Common Access Cards.
• Make DTRA badges.
• Meet and escort DTRA site visitors as needed.
• Assist visitors with contacting their government points of contact.
• May be required to provide directions to visitors.
• Communicate clearly and orally with visitors as required.
