Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Tranist Hub in New York, NY to safeguard clients across government and other sectors. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, deter incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service to employees and visitors in a busy transit environment.

This full-time role pays $19.09 per hour with day-time schedule from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background checks will be conducted as per law.
• Drug screening required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by following security procedures.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations using established reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor security concerns, suspicious activity, hazards, and access-control issues; report observations promptly.
• Assist with directing passengers and visitors, providing information, and maintaining a professional presence.

Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic government transportation location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a public transportation environment.


• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, entrances, adjacent areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.


• Monitor for security-related concerns, suspicious activity, hazards, and access-control issues, and promptly report observations to appropriate personnel.


• Assist with directing passengers and visitors, providing information, and maintaining a professional presence in high-traffic public areas.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
