• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, medical situations, and critical events calmly per site procedures.
• Document observations and communicate to supervisors and emergency responders.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Engagement in Jamaica, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.88 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a commuter rail transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of platforms, stations, parking areas, offices, yards, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, transit personnel, and emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
