Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking an Unarmed Patrol Officer in Minneapolis, MN. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor access, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering professional customer service.

Requirements include at least one year in security, HS diploma or equivalent, and comfort with computers/tablets. Hours include night shifts; pay rate is $22.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and building personnel while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of commercial office areas, lobbies, parking facilities, and perimeters to deter incidents.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor/contractor authorization; report concerns.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations per site procedures.
• Document patrol activity and communicate findings to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

• Thur 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and building personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial office areas, lobbies, parking facilities, loading docks, and building perimeters to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization as directed, and report access concerns or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, observations, and maintenance concerns accurately and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
