Job summary

Cherokee Nation Entertainment is seeking a Security Officer to deter threats and respond to emergencies at Gold Strike Casino. The role requires training, physical conditioning, and adherence to policies while delivering excellent guest service.

The position is hourly and part-time, with duties including patrolling, monitoring cameras, handling incidents, assisting guests and staff, and participating in evacuations as needed. Training and certification are required.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
• Must possess: valid state-issued driver's license.
• Gaming work permit as required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor all areas of the property, including the exterior by operating a bicycle or company vehicle.
• Monitor alarm systems and surveillance cameras.
• Provide excellent guest service to guests and employees and resolve complaints and issues.
• Act as a first responder in emergencies.
• Perform gaming drops/transactions, including carrying drop boxes and chip carriers.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities.
• Act as a dispatcher to relay information to appropriate personnel.
• Render first aid and follow protocol for reporting injuries.
• Assist in emergencies by securing the scene and coordinating evacuation procedures.
• Attend and pass recurring mandatory training including defensive tactics and CPR/AED.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Patrol and monitor all areas of the property, including the exterior by operating a bicycle or company vehicle.
• Monitor alarm systems and surveillance cameras.
• Provide excellent guest service to guests and employees and resolve complaints and issues involving both guests and employees.
• Act as a first responder in emergencies.
• Perform gaming drops/transactions, including carrying drop boxes and chip carriers.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as property damage, theft, guest or employee accidents, or unusual occurrences.
• Act as a dispatcher to relay information, messages, and/or emergencies to or from appropriate personnel using telephones or two-way radios.
• Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and follow the established protocol for reporting injuries.
• Assist in emergencies by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures.
• Required to successfully attend and pass all recurring mandatory legal, defensive tactics, first aid, CPR/AED training/drill as a condition of employment.
• Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned equipment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• One (1) year of customer service experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

Certifications

• Valid state issued driver's license.
• Gaming work permit, as required by jurisdiction.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to learn, demonstrate proficiency, and effectively use defensive tactics and handcuffing techniques.
• Ability to participate in all evacuation procedures to aid guests and employees during an emergency.
• Ability to operate assigned equipment.
• Ability to learn, demonstrate proficiency, and effectively use various computer software.
• Candidates will be required to satisfactorily pass a security officer academy training course.

Working Conditions

• Varies.
• Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
