Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part Time Security Officer for a state site in Boston, MA. The role offers Saturdays 7 AM – 7 PM with the option for more shifts and starts at $21.50 per hour, plus paid orientation and training.

As a Security Officer you will provide customer service, perform site-specific security procedures, and conduct patrols.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background check and drug screening as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity and direct individuals as needed.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with emergency services when directed.
• Document observations and incidents with accurate reports for site leadership.

As a Security Officer in Boston, MA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Sat 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transportation facilities, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, directing individuals to appropriate locations when needed.
• Respond to incidents, roadway‑related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities through accurate reports and communicate relevant information to site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
