Travis County is seeking a Senior Security Officer to safeguard county facilities and protect employees and visitors. You will monitor activity, respond to incidents, and ensure doors, windows, and access points are secure.

Security Officer Sr. plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-protected environment for all Travis County employees and visitors. In this position, you will serve as the first line of defense in safeguarding the property, monitoring activity, and responding to situations with professionalism and sound judgment. We're looking for individuals who are attentive, reliable, and committed to upholding high standards of safety and customer service within our facilities.
Provides basic building security for County facilities during normal business hours or after hours and on weekends and holidays. Ensures doors and windows are locked and secured during non-business hours. Reports security violations and questionable activities. Monitors buildings for damages from flooding, equipment failure or vandalism.
This classification is responsible for front-line property/facility security functions and operations and has senior-level duties and responsibilities. This classification may require a flexible work schedule to meet departmental and County needs.
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus two (2) years of providing direct security services, including lead or supervisory experience in the public and/or private sector.

Any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, reaching, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, balancing, client/customer contact, squatting to perform the essential functions. Requires constant walking and standing and exposure to outside elements.
Travis County employees play an important role in business continuity. As such, employees can be assigned to business continuity efforts outside of normal job functions.
Work Hours: Must be flexible to work at AM/PM/Overnight. Shift differential for PM and Overnight hours. Works some holidays, Works some nights, Works some weekends.
