Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Security Officer 3 to join its on-site security team in Austin, TX. The role involves patrolling SpaceX properties, coordinating security operations, and providing on-scene leadership during emergencies in a high-tech environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in related security fields, an ability to de-escalate conflicts, and strong communication skills. FAA Part 107 drone license and state security licenses may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
• 5+ years of experience in military, law enforcement, overseas security contracting, or advanced corporate security.
• 1+ year of executive protection or emergency response team experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to de-escalate disputes and maintain composure under pressure.
• Strong integrity and character; dedication to mission safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proficiency/awareness of static guard post duties.
• Plan and conduct advanced security training for all security officers.
• Conduct advanced research and analysis in support of SpaceX security missions.
• Conduct and review risk assessments of critical SpaceX facilities.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide on-scene leadership to others.
• Plan and coordinate domestic flight hardware transportation operations.
• Learn advanced skillsets including EMT, investigations, surveillance, VIP escort, security hardware.
