$18.00 An Hour Starting Pay

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in Wheaton, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As an unarmed patrol officer in a retail and mall environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence for visitors and tenants. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, assisting with access control, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication. You will be part of a team that values agility, reliability, and innovation, always putting people first and acting with integrity while supporting a secure and positive atmosphere throughout the location.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Day	Time
Fri	03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Sat	03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Responsibilities:

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the retail or mall environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location, including both interior and exterior areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for any security-related incidents.
• Assist with access control and monitor entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized entry.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences encountered during patrols.
• Support emergency response activities and assist with evacuations or other procedures as directed by site management.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security experience is required.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Maryland Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
