• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of screening areas, entrances, loading areas and perimeter.

As a Security Officer Shipping Center in Uniondale, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.97 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Saturday 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.


• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and belongings in accordance with established procedures; verify access credentials and direct individuals to appropriate entry points.


• Monitor access points and screening equipment, report prohibited items, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.


• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.


• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entrances, loading areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
