As a Security Officer Food Distributor Center in Central Islip, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage distribution location.


• Respond to incidents, delivery-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.


• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading docks, parking areas, trailer yards, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access points and visitor, vendor, and delivery driver activity in accordance with site-specific requirements.


• Document observations, incidents, and irregular conditions and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.


• Access control and badge experience is preferred.


• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
