Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Arlington, VA is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for residents, guests and staff. You will patrol buildings, monitor access points, respond to alarms, and document incidents.

This role requires a HS diploma, 2+ years of experience, good judgment, strong communication, and basic computer skills. A valid driver’s license may be required; Sunrise offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED; age 18.
• 2+ years related experience preferred.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license (if required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols of buildings, grounds, and parking areas
• Inspect doors, windows, gates, and access points
• Respond to alarms, security calls, and on-site emergencies
• Investigate and document incidents or suspicious activity
• Complete daily Security Logs and incident reports
• Monitor fire safety, hazards, and unsecured areas
• Assist with emergency response procedures
• Escort residents and team members after hours
• Support OSHA and infection control compliance
• Secure and unlock areas per policy
