Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for Northport, AL. You will perform unarmed patrols in healthcare locations, maintain a visible presence, and assist patients, visitors, and staff with excellent service.

You will monitor access points, respond to incidents, document observations, and follow site protocols. A guard card and high school diploma are preferred; must meet age requirements and pass background/drug screening.

Qualifications

• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check in accordance with applicable laws.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies using established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter zones.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, direct individuals to appropriate locations, and report suspicious activity.

Job Schedule:

• Mon 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing individuals to appropriate locations, and report suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
