Job summary

Allied Universal, Northport, AL, seeks a Security Officer for Active Patrol in a healthcare setting. You will patrol, monitor access, and deliver patient- and staff-focused service while responding to emergencies with professionalism.

This full-time role pays $15.00 per hour and follows a 2:00 PM–10:00 PM schedule across Mon–Sun. Applicants will undergo background checks and drug screening in line with laws and licensing requirements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check conducted per federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local regulations.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond calmly to incidents and medical emergencies per site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities and surrounding areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management to maintain controlled access.
• Document observations and incidents and relay information to leadership and site contacts.

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, helping to maintain controlled access to restricted areas in accordance with site procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
