Job summary

DUS is seeking Security Officers to protect work sites, personnel and assets along the Alyeska Pipeline. This role operates on a two weeks on / two weeks off rotation, with room and board provided and transportation between Anchorage/Fairbanks and the jobsite.

Minimum one year of relevant security experience, a valid driver's license, and reliable access to a smartphone for scheduling and communications are required. A background check and medical/physical screening will be completed post-offer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a security officer or similar role within the past five years.
• Reliable access to a smartphone capable of running scheduling/timekeeping/communication apps.

Responsibilities

• Make arrests if necessary, using handcuffs.
• Load, unload, aim and fire agency firearms.
• Perform searches of people, vehicles, buildings, and large outdoor areas.
• Confront suspicious persons, assess intentions, and take action as appropriate.
• Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters.
• Communicate clearly over radio and respond to radio traffic.
• Gather information in investigations by interviewing participants and witnesses.
• Exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate action.
• Interpret oral information accurately and respond accordingly.
• Maintain composure and control of the situation.
• Operate a motor vehicle in varying conditions.
