Job summary

Allied Universal in Riverhead, NY is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer for a retail warehouse environment. This role offers reliable, fixed shifts with the flexibility to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $19.00 per hour with Daytime and Evening shifts. The position includes a six‑month anchor shift commitment, opportunities for full‑time progression through paid training, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, members, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail warehouse environment.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the store, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑traffic areas; assist with access control, visitor interactions, and observation of site activity in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports of incidents, observations, and security‑related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
