Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer for a Retail Standing Position in Bridgeport, CT. You will provide security services at a designated site with fixed shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on multiple days, with a pay rate of $19.86 per hour. The role offers flexible scheduling and potential progression to full-time roles after a six-month commitment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Background check is required for employment.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document observations for appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly retail environment and support loss prevention.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and visitor activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel as required.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly retail environment by providing directions, answering questions, and supporting site‑specific loss prevention and emergency procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
