Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Smithfield, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As an unarmed patrol officer at a retail or mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence for visitors. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, assisting guests, and maintaining open communication with the public. This post requires driving as part of your duties. Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed03:00 PM - 10:00 PMThur03:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the retail or mall environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including both the interior and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for any security-related incidents.
• Assist with access control and monitor entry and exit points as required by site policies.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to established procedures.
• Support emergency response activities and coordinate with local authorities or emergency services when appropriate.
• Offer guidance and assistance to visitors, tenants, and staff as needed, maintaining a visible presence throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
• North Carolina Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
