Job summary

Allied Universal in Elmhurst, NY is hiring a Security Officer - Retail Center Patrol to safeguard tenants and visitors while delivering excellent customer service. You will patrol unarmed, monitor entrances and parking areas, and respond to incidents professionally.

This full-time role requires the ability to communicate effectively, write clear reports, and follow site procedures. A high school diploma and background check are mandatory; driving positions may require a valid license.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property personnel while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property common areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with location procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Prepare accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Pay Rate: $17.09 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Tue: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Wed: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Minimum Requirements:
