Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced for a residential building in New York, NY. The role offers reliable hours with the option to pick up additional shifts through a scheduling platform, helping you grow toward a full-time schedule.

Pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The fixed shift runs 12:00 AM to 07:30 AM, with a six-month anchor commitment. You will perform security procedures, monitor access, and complete reports as required.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a financial institution while following site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and according to procedures.
• Conduct regular or random patrols of the facility, lobby, parking areas, access points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access, observe visitor/employee activity, and report suspicious behavior or maintenance issues.
• Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation per site procedures.

DayTimeMon12:00 AM - 07:30 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients at a financial institution by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, lobby areas, parking locations, access points, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, observe visitor and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and other required records in accordance with site‑specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
