Job Description

As a Security Officer – Refinery Patrol Driver in La Porte, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage incidents, and report security-related concerns with clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and a TSA issued TWIC. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a chemical and/or petrochemical setting.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, tank farms, warehouses, parking areas, administrative spaces and perimeter lines; note and report unusual conditions such as unsecured doors, damaged fencing, leaks and/or odors.
• Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit of employees, contractors and deliveries by verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials and directing traffic flow per post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting evacuations and/or muster procedures and communicating updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Complete detailed patrol logs, shift reports and incident documentation and communicate observations to appropriate personnel using radios, phones and/or reporting systems.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
