Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Reception - Unarmed in Columbia, SC to provide a welcoming, professional presence for tenants, visitors, and staff at a commercial real estate site.

As a full-time role, you will manage access control and badges, monitor alarm panels, respond to security concerns, and deliver exceptional customer service. The position offers a $16.00/hour pay rate and a schedule with evening shifts, in a culture that values collaboration and integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles (21+ for armed).
• Background check and drug screen per laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, and vendors; follow site procedures.
• Staff the front desk or lobby; greet visitors, manage access, and maintain visitor logs.
• Monitor building access points and report suspicious activity or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner; document events and communicate with site management and responders.
• Assist with tenant and visitor needs within assigned responsibilities.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Reception - Unarmed in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional at a commercial real estate location, you will serve as a welcoming, professional presence for tenants, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include managing access control and badges, monitoring alarm panels, responding to security-related concerns, and providing exceptional customer service. What You'll Do

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Staff the front desk or lobby area, greet and direct visitors, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate visitor logs in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor building access points, observe lobby activity, and report suspicious activity, unauthorized access attempts, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document events and communicate with site management and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Support a professional commercial real estate environment by answering basic inquiries, providing directions, and assisting with tenant and visitor needs within assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
