Job summary

Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, Maryland, part of Churchill Downs Incorporated, is hiring for a part-time Security Officer on the graveyard shift (10PM–6AM). The wage is $16 per hour with duties including maintaining safety, enforcing regulations, guarding assets, and assisting in money transfers.

Ideal candidates have prior security experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and must meet company Motor Vehicle Policy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
• Must be able to obtain and keep a Maryland State Lottery Agency license.

• Enforce and adhere to State Lottery Regulations, Internal Controls and company Policies & Procedures.

• Patrol grounds in security vehicle as assigned.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations.
• Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Previous Security experience preferred.

Valid driver’s license required and must meet the requirements of company Motor Vehicle Policy.

Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.

Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all Gaming Establishment employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. without difficulty, repeatedly.

Must be able to sit, walk or stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
