Job summary

Southern Research in the United States is seeking a full-time security officer to protect personnel, visitors, information, and property. You will monitor access points, patrol the campus, and respond to alarms, coordinating with local responders when needed.

The role requires working various hours at short notice, maintaining a valid driver’s license, and obtaining CPR/AED certification. US citizenship is required; prior security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with MS Office (email, Word, Excel).
• Must maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and coordinate with outside responders as needed.
• Maintain a secured facility by monitoring access, checking identifications, and inspecting deliveries.
• Enforce the Institute Parking Policy and address illegal parking.
• Conduct patrols of the campus by vehicle or on foot and monitor surveillance systems.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service and follow all security procedures.
• Notify Security Manager or Lead Security Officer of suspicions or breaches.
