Job summary

Allied Universal, Des Moines, IA, is hiring a Security Officer Patrol Observation to safeguard clients across industries, including food/beverage locations. The role is full time with daytime to evening shifts and a pay rate of $18.96 per hour.

You will patrol, monitor access points, respond to incidents, document observations, and maintain a professional, customer-focused presence on site. Minimum requirements include being 18+, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass

As a Security Officer Patrol Observation in Des Moines, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a food and beverage location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to concerns, and document observations while reflecting Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-oriented, and integrity-driven values.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor, employee, and delivery traffic in accordance with site requirements, reporting concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
