Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Patrol Driver PT in Columbia, SC. This role involves patrolling a busy retail location, providing customer service, and maintaining a visible security presence.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with disturbances, medical situations, and alarms, and/or notifying the appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points, observe for suspicious behavior, and help reduce loss by reporting concerns, maintaining visibility, and documenting observations per post orders.
• Complete required reports such as incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate key information to supervisors, store management, and/or local authorities as needed.

As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, including vehicle-based rounds, to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, respond to incidents, and support a positive shopping experience through strong customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be 21+ years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
