Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol - Access Control in Columbus, OH to protect travelers and staff at an airport location. You’ll monitor access control points, perform regular patrols, and respond to incidents while delivering professional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience, comfort with computers/tablets, and familiarity with access control or badge systems.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required per federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of airport facilities, parking areas, access points, terminal perimeters, and other areas.
• Monitor access control points, check credentials, and report access concerns or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and notify emergency responders when appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs and incident documentation.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol - Access Controlin Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer at a government airport location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, support access control activities, and help to deter security-related incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication to travelers, visitors, and staff while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with integrity and teamwork.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an airport authority location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of airport facilities, parking areas, access points, terminal perimeters, and other assigned areas to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access control points, check credentials as assigned, and report access concerns, suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying emergency responders when appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and communication records.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
