Job summary

Qualifications

• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following site-specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and assist with directing visitors, reporting access-control concerns.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to supervision and site contacts.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests while carrying out security-related procedures, campus policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with directing visitors, providing information, and reporting access-control concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
