Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Patrol for Canoga Park, CA. This Part Time Enhanced role offers reliable, fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $21.00 per hour, with a schedule that includes evening shifts and weekends. You will provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and staff, conduct regular patrols, monitor access points, and document activities in line with site procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license may be required per site policy.
• Pepper spray certification preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and staff by following security procedures and site policies, and assist with emergencies as needed.
• Respond to incidents and disturbances calmly, notifying appropriate personnel or emergency services.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols to identify hazards and report policy violations.
• Monitor access points and parking; assist with traffic flow and visitor directions.
• Document observations and daily activities accurately per site procedures and reporting requirements.

As a Security Officer Patrolin Canoga Park, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon07:00 PM - 11:00 PMSun07:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail property, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access points, parking activity, and public areas; assist with traffic flow, visitor questions, and direction to retail locations when needed.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
