Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for an unarmed patrol role in Decatur, IL. You will deter security incidents, monitor access, and provide strong customer service within a manufacturing and industrial setting.

The position is full-time with a pay rate of $19.50 per hour. You will work a day/evening shift schedule and be expected to follow site procedures and report observations to management.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required as a condition of employment under federal/state/local laws.
• A drug screen may be required as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors and delivery personnel while following site policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, access points, and perimeter to deter incidents.
• Monitor access, verify credentials, maintain logs, and report unauthorized access or policy violations.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other events; notify site contacts and responders as needed.
• Prepare incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation; communicate observations to supervision and management.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol in Decatur, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and site procedures. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture through teamwork and integrity.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders when needed.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation, and communicate observations or security-related concerns to Allied Universal supervision and site management.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
