Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Patrol in Buffalo, NY. You will serve residents, visitors and staff, maintain a visible security presence, and provide courteous customer service to help deter incidents.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter, you will conduct patrols, monitor access points, respond calmly to incidents, and document activities. Flexible daytime shifts and the ability to claim additional hours via our Shift platform are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law and company policy.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles where applicable.
• Ability to use a computer or tablet for reporting.

Pay Rate: $18.63 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.


• Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols throughout the shelter location and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, property concerns, and policy violations.


• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.


• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site requirements, helping to maintain an orderly environment for residents and staff.


• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
