Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Patrol in Ankeny, IA to provide customer service, deter incidents, and maintain a visible security presence at technology, media, and telecommunications locations.

You will conduct routine and random patrols, monitor access points, respond to alarms, and complete security reports, while following site procedures and collaborating with the Allied Universal team to keep employees and visitors safe.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required under federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of offices, common areas, parking areas, access points, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, contractor, and delivery credentials according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and escalating concerns through established channels.
• Complete routine activity reports and communicate security-related observations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Pay Rate: $18.80 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sun: 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
