Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Visitor Assistance in Lancaster, SC to safeguard clients across healthcare environments and other industries. You will provide exceptional customer service, conduct patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or GED (Certificates of Completion not acceptable).
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• A drug screen will be conducted as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including disturbances, access concerns, and medical facility‑related emergencies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned areas and the perimeter, observing for unusual activity and reporting security‑related concerns.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, verifying authorized access, and directing visitors in accordance with site‑specific procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or Verifiable High School Diploma or GED (Certificates of Completion not acceptable)
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
