Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol, Tablet Data Capture) in Columbus, OH. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access control, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering professional customer service to employees and visitors.

This role offers flexible scheduling through our Claim a Shift platform, with a pay rate of $18.54 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screening will be conducted as per law.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors and contractors while following site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and access-control concerns; escalate per site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, entrances, parking lots and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; report unauthorized access or unusual conditions to leadership.
• Document patrols, incidents and security activities in required reports and shift logs.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately in required reports and shift logs.

Minimum Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
