Job summary

Allied Universal in Reston, VA is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol, monitor, and protect the site while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will work a weekend schedule (Sat and Sun, 12:00 AM–08:00 AM) at a technology-focused location, with opportunities to learn and use our shift-claiming platform. Training and growth options are available within a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check as per federal, state, and local laws.
• Criminal history considered in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on local laws and regulations.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology-focused location by following security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; document visitor activity, deliveries, and access events as required.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and communicate with site contacts and emergency responders.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports on patrols and incidents and share information with Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sun 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, building entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials in accordance with site procedures; document visitor activity, deliveries, and other access-related events as required.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports on patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
