Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Unarmed Patrol Route Verification in Washington, DC. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and provide a visible presence to deter incidents while serving students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following campus protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence halls, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities in required reports, logs, and electronic systems.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence halls, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately in required reports, logs, and/or electronic systems.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
