Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a part-time unarmed Security Officer (Loss Prevention) in Sunnyvale, TX. You will patrol and monitor to deter incidents, assist with access control, and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation as per federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws; driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors while following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and urgent situations in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of retail/mall locations and monitored areas.
• Monitor for unusual activity and report observations to site leadership.
• Assist visitors with directions, lost-and-found procedures, and professional communication.

As an unarmed Security Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and screening activities. You will deliver outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with visitors and team members, and use technology to document observations. Pay Rate: $18.54 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Wed 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Thur 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail and mall locations, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor for unusual activity, access concerns, and policy violations, and report observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
• Support a welcoming shopping environment by providing directions, assisting with lost-and-found procedures, and communicating professionally with customers, employees, and first responders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
