Job summary

Allied Universal® in Hammond, IN is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to monitor and protect a logistics and distribution site, providing courteous service to employees, visitors, drivers and vendors.

You will patrol, verify access, log activities, respond to incidents, and follow site procedures. Schedule: Sat 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM; Sun 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Pay rate: $19.57 per hour.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, loading docks, trailer yards, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs of visitors, deliveries, and security-related incidents.
• Observe shipping and receiving activity and report damaged property, suspicious behavior, policy violations, and other security-related concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
