Job summary

Allied Universal® in Lexington, KY is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Inspection. This position offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts to boost earnings.

You will provide customer service to campus communities, perform patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and file detailed reports. Pay is $19.00 per hour with flexible day and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or other members of the campus community while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and campus facilities, verify authorized entry when required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus contacts and emergency responders as appropriate.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed activity logs for patrol observations, incidents, and other security-related events.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
