Job summary

Allied Universal in Washington, DC seeks a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol, deter incidents, and deliver excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

As a member of a dynamic team, you’ll work daytime and overnight shifts, with a flexible schedule offered, and partner with campus personnel and emergency responders when needed. Equal opportunity employer; background check and drug screen required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with applicable laws.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, and surrounding grounds to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors, campus personnel, and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
