Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Northport, AL. The role offers flexible fixed shifts with a six-month commitment and opportunities to pick up extra shifts to increase earnings.

You will perform access control, patrols, and incident reporting, supporting patient, visitor, staff, and contractor safety. Pay rate is $16.00 per hour with a schedule of DayTimeSun 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

Qualifications

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established healthcare location protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain clear communication with Allied Universal leadership, healthcare staff, and emergency responders as needed.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
