Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services provider, is hiring an Unarmed Security Professional for the Fairfax County Contract. The role includes patrolling, incident response, and customer service to safeguard government buildings and properties while offering growth within a supportive team.

This part-time position offers on-site shifts, free parking, and opportunities for overtime and advancement under the Fairfax contract.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Must have 6 months of Unarmed related experience (Security, Law Enforcement or U.S. Military).
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess an Active VA DCJS license (DCJS training provided if prior experience).
• Background check and drug screening required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents and maintain calm, professional handling of situations at government locations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity and ensure safety.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to maintain a secure environment.
• Document and report incidents or policy violations as required by management.
• Assist with emergency response per established protocols.
• Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel.

Pay Rate: $18.30 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Wed 08:00 AM - 01:00 PM

As an Unarmed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as government buildings and government properties. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your visible patrols and strong communication skills will support a secure environment for staff and visitors.

On the Fairfax County Government Contract, we offer additional hours to our part-time officers and overtime hours to our full-time officers. We have onsite free parking and offer many promotional opportunities within the contract.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies within the different government locations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the different government locations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential threats.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to assist in maintaining a secure environment for staff and visitors.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual observations, or policy violations as required by Allied Universal and site management.
• Assist with emergency response activities in accordance with established protocols and instructions from site leadership.
• Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Must have 6 months of Unarmed related experience. (Security, Law Enforcement or U.S. Military)
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess an Active VA DCJS (Will provide DCJS Training if proof of prior experience is provided)
• Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience are preferred, but will provide training if needed.
• CPR and first aid certification are preferred but will provide training if needed.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
