Job summary

Allied Universal, Birmingham, AL, seeks a part-time Security Officer Enhanced for hospital response. The role offers a fixed anchor shift with the option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

You will help ensure patient and staff safety, monitor entrances, and respond to incidents across healthcare facilities. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to work in a hospital environment, and successful background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Must meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Must be comfortable working in or near a hospital morgue.
• Must be able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and other individuals by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, wayfinding, and compliance with facility access requirements.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Hospital Response in Birmingham, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
