Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part Time Unarmed Alarm Verification Security Officer in Chicago, IL. You will patrol healthcare locations, monitor access points, and respond to alarms while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will use your experience to deter security incidents, document events, and maintain a visible presence across shifts.

Qualifications

• Past supervisory or leadership roles in security settings.
• At least 1 year in law enforcement or 2 years as security supervisor/manager, or 3 years security-related experience.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet for daily tasks.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law; all qualified applicants will be considered.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting unusual behavior.
• Prepare clear incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Fri 02:00 PM - 06:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and escalating concerns as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, staff, and vendor activity in accordance with site policies, reporting unusual activity or policy violations.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess supervisory experience.
• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
