Allied Universal in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to monitor and protect patients, visitors, and staff in healthcare settings. You will maintain a visible presence, respond to incidents, and support a welcoming environment with professional service.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Age requirements: 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles; background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and medical or security-related emergencies with calm, professional handling.
• Conduct regular patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeters to identify unusual activity.
• Assist with visitor access procedures and directions during security events, coordinating with facility personnel.
• Document observations and actions in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical-related emergencies, disturbances, and access concerns.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Assist with visitor access procedures, direction requests, and communication with appropriate facility personnel during security-related incidents.
• Document observations, incidents, and actions taken in accordance with site-specific procedures and Allied Universal requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
