Job summary

Allied Universal® in Okemos, MI is seeking a part-time Security Officer for a retail site. You will provide security, protect assets, and deliver customer service while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

The role offers flexible scheduling with DayTime and Weekend shifts and opportunities to learn our security platform and earn more through shift claiming. Prior security or customer-facing experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, exterior perimeter, parking areas, and assigned access points to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, observe visitor and employee activity, and report security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
