Job summary

Allied Universal in NEW YORK, NY is hiring a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Documentation to provide dependable hours at an assigned site. The role is designed for individuals seeking flexible, consistent income and the chance to gain hands-on security experience with the industry leader.

You will work fixed anchor shifts for six months, plus an Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program to pick up extra shifts across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, including contacting appropriate supervisory personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, surrounding grounds, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with established procedures, maintaining awareness of authorized entry and exit activity.
• Prepare accurate written reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, observations, and security‑related concerns.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Day	Time
Mon	08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
Sun	08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
